Senior/ Lead Estimator – Civils. Bristol – UK
Clarehill Associates are currently recruiting for a Senior/ Lead Estimator on behalf of our Client - a highly successful, Civil engineering contractor based in Bristol.
Our client required a dedicated professional estimator to develop bids and tenders in UK Heavy Civils.
As Lead Estimator, you will be responsible for processing tenders from receipt to submission, on a range of general civils projects across The South West and Wales, from £200k up to £10 million.
Projects include infrastructure, roads, bridges, groundworks, power stations and hard landscaping.
You will be experienced in preparing analytical estimates and realistic tenders that ensures business sustainability through securing contracts.
And be able to calculate and prepare tender submissions, prepare accurate contract costs that deliver the full scope associated with the Client brief, with appropriate levels of margin recovery to deliver the required project profitability.
Role:
Preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of civil engineering projects. Reviewing and reporting on the Client’s Enquiry to enable a decision to bid.
Preparing subcontract & materials enquiries for administration & buying team.
Building up an accurate cost estimates for permanent works in an elemental and analytical format. Preparing an accurate cost estimate for the indirect resources required to carry out the works in accordance with agreed programme & engineering requirements.
Checking labour & plant resources accumulated in the cost estimate balance with those derived from the tender programme. Prepare the commercial tender for submission to the Client.
Managing hand over to the delivery team
Experience:
You will have at least 5 years experience as a dedicated Estimator in Civil Engineering.
Ideally Estimator for projects such as: RC, structures, services, external works, fit outs, roads, sewers, bridges, hard landscaping, power station.
Be able to use analytical methods for rate build ups experience of using computer estimating packages Ability to interpret drawings and specifications to allow the preparation of Bills of Quantities/Schedules of Rates and other such procurement documentation
Degree/ HND qualification in Civil Engineering/ Estimating an advantage.
