Sales & Marketing Manager -  AGVs / Forklifts / Material Handling technology - UK


We are seeking an experienced Sales & Service Manager with  strong background and exert market knowledge of Material Handling Equipment – any of Forklifts, AGVs, Conveyors, Baggage Handling equipment and technology.


This is to Lead a skunkworks team in Driverless Vehicle Engineering for AGVs & Automated/ Robotic / Autonomous Forklift technology. And embark on quite the adventure in modern driverless robots and material handling tech.


Please note: For this role, it is Essential to have Excellent Knowledge of material handling sector eg forklifts, AGVs, conveyors. Engineering Degree and technical background also essential. Also: NPI for high end design engineering & Business Development/ Commercial skills are essential for this role.

Forklift / AGV / Conveyor/ Material Handling experience with any of the following would be an

advantage: Dematic, Hyster – Yale  (HYMH), Linde, Jungheinrich, Briggs, Toyota material

handling, Komatsu, Mitsubishi, Caterpillar / CAT, Hyundai, Doosan, Clark Material Handling,

Nissan, Crown Equipment, Still.


Alternatively perhaps sold large material handling tech & equipment into freight & logistics/

distribution centres eg Amazon, Unicarriers, DHL, Fedex, UPS.


Senior role in a start up team delivering game changing autonomous vehicle technology for

Automotive, Industrial, Mechanical Handling, Land Vehicles, Agricultural & Defence sectors.


You will require excellent commercial knowledge and in depth technical understanding of the MHE sector - Mechanical Handling Equipment for transport, positioning, unit load formation and storage. Need to be Understand what end users want to do, then evaluate what is required and build a new product to achieve this (while fitting the correct price point). You will need a strong knowledge of MHE industry trends, good mix of technical, commercial, communication and teamwork skills. These groundbreaking new software & engineering design tools are being adopted by leading Tier 1 & OEMs in Automotive, MHE, Defence, Industry 4.0, Smart Factories worldwide.


Client facing role working with clients and suppliers in Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) industry to identify and understand client requirements and then help build a high tech solution

Be able to communicate effectively with clients at all levels including technical.

Have an expert level understanding of the sector and what the market wants. Both now and in the future - future requirements, applications and next generation products.

New Product Introduction for Tier 1 & OEMs in baggage handling, forklifts, Vehicles, agricultural, defence, military.

Cross Functional role working with clients, design & systems design engineers, product developers, sales teams. Hit target milestone and achieve growth in sales/ revenue


Essentials Skills & Experience:

  • Background in material handling equipment sector & know the key players.
  • Client facing & Commercial skills eg Business development, NPI, Key Account Management.
  • MHE (Automotive/ Vehicles/ forklift / baggage handling) engineering experience 
  • NPI: Technical design, development & introduction of new products (ideally in Electronic / Electrical systems, AI, Autonomous Vehicle Tech or similar).
  • Engineering / IT / Technical Degree



  • Any knowledge of tech for autonomous/ driverless driving systems – CAV, controls, electrical, sensors, Machine Learning, Machine vision, electronic, software, Object detection sensor, smart robot AI, ADAS, Driving Robots, Drive-by-wire, Blind spot detection, Self driving vehicle sensor validation with multiple vehicles and junctions.
  • Automated Warehousing Tech – AGVs (Automated Guide Vehicles), Conveyors, AS/RS.
  • AGV safety standards EN ISO 3691-4:2020  Part 4: Driverless industrial trucks and their systems.
  • Ideally understanding of Electronic, Electrical or Mechatronic or Software.
