VP Engineering – UK

Leading Design Engineering Company. Specialist engineers to the space, aerospace & energy sector. A fast growing, innovative and exciting company to work for, that offer excellent chances for technical and personal development.
Wide ranging role including: management of 25-30 engineers in design & R&D team.
Also covers R&D, new product development, NPI, setting and delivering the technology strategy and management of the engineering function.
And promoting the technical capabilities of the company.
Working with others teams in: acquisition, processing and interpretation, and the ways in which they interact and affect each other.
The Role
This is wide ranging and lead role - Mix of management of engineering team as well as set technical direction for the company’s products.
You will have extensive senior engineering experience in both Mechanical, Electronic, Hardware & Software - Leading a team in UK and developing their new products for hi tech Engineering.
Working with Product Development & Sales to Project the company’s technical competence to clients, to let them know that not only can you undertake each project successfully, but you can do it better and more innovatively than their competitors.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
• Degree in Engineering: any of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, IT.
• Full product Design from blank piece of paper to prototype to manufacture
• Hardware: Embedded Systems
• Electronics: Low noise
• Wireless Communications (RF, Zigbee, Z-Wave, LORA, LTE)
• IoT technology & electronic equipment for data collection
• Microcontrollers: Linux, Yocto
• Design background in Electronic Hardware.
• Electronic sensor design experience.
Advantage to have design engineering in any of the following: Energy, Survey, Mapping, GIS, Data Loggers, Remote sensors, Android, direct acquisition software / systems, IoT technology/ Industry 4.0.
