CAD Manager/ CAD Administrator - Solidworks    Bristol          CONTRACT

Seeking experienced CAD Admin / Manager for High level Research & Development & Specialist equipment design and build for offshore sector. An innovative and exciting company to work for.

Leading R&D Engineering Company - Specialist equipment manufacturers for Offshore/ Marine/ Naval / Aerospace engineering – seek talented CAD Admin / Manager

The Role

Administer and manage CAD software (Solidworks, PDM/ PLM, AutoCad),

Evaluate new CAD hardware/software and recommend investments in new technologies.

Oversee CAD operations, including establishing drafting standards and styles, hardware and software evaluation and maintenance, data maintenance and integrity, CAD procedures, and supplemental application design.

Advise management on program implementation, equipment needs, and evolving technological and support strategies.

Organize the update and maintenance of electronic libraries of drawings, details, standard plans, and CAD styles.  Develop procedures, routines, and programming scripts for drawing templates; produce drawings for other departments upon request.

 

CAD Administrator: system modifications, system enhancements, and system replacements. Maintain server/database, process automation. 

Database query, macros, reporting & business improvement processes.


ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

  • CAD Manager & CAD Administrator
  • Query Database (SQL Database expertise /VBA & related code expertise advantage)
  • Upgrade/ service pack installation and implementation
  • Managing licenses, renewals, users & permissions
  • Upgrade/maintain server, Add new server tools, Back up engineering data
  • Design Engineering experience using SolidWorks & PLM.
  • Engineering / Mechanical qualification
  • Engage with team members to identify enhancement opportunities
  • Manage the release of new versions/upgrade

Advantage:

  • Experience of Aerospace, Marine, Naval or Offshore engineering 
  • Design for Manufacturing / Fabrication/ Industrial Engineering

 

Contract Role: Please note that this Role is office based & inside IR35  (Bristol, Gloucester, South Wales)
