Senior or Lead Geophysicist – Offshore Wind / O&G/ Marine – UK
Opportunity for Senior Geophysicist to work with major offshore projects in Renewables, Foundations, Subsea Cables design.
Must have commercial Geophysicist experience in Marine/ Offshore Engineering
Essential
- Degree in Geophysics / Geology / Marine Geosciences.
- Experience in the Offshore/ Marine engineering sector - Experience of Marine Geophysics and Offshore Engineering Projects
- Geophys Software (eg SonarWiz. Kingdom)
- Experience with geophys survey equipment & interpretation of data for offshore engineering
- Geohazard Assessments
Desirable
- Geotechnic knowledge & integration with Geophys
- GIS
- Offshore Foundation experience eg O&G or Wind or Marine.
- Chartered Engineer – or keen to become Chartered
- Ability to Team Lead/ Mentor engineers.
Role:
Working in close relationship with clients, contractors and developers - projects are varied and include the detailed design of offshore wind farms in UK and Europe.
Lead and Manage projects which intergrate geophysics with geotechncis and foundation engineering. From conceptual studies through to detailed design, and follow-up monitoring , assessment and documentation.
Projects are carried out in close collaboration with other departments and through consultation with other specialists. This continuously provides inspiration for innovation within the geophys field.
Good communication and organisational skills and are able to deal with the daily demands of working within a multidisciplinary design team.
Good leadership skills and are willing to participate actively in the on-going development of both technical resources and professional development
