Head of Product – NPI for Autonomous Off-Highway Vehicles
NB: This is a Hands on Technical Engineering /Software role - Requires engineering/ software degree and experience in NPI for Off-Highway
Lead & Senior role in a start up team delivering game changing autonomous vehicle hardware & software products for Land based vehicles in Off Highway:
You need excellent knowledge and experience of the Off Highway sector eg Mining, Agricultural, Industrial, Mechanical Handling, Forklifts, AGVs & Specialist Automotive for Heavy Industry.
Eg Experience working with engineering consultancy specializing in this sector.
Understand what end users want to do, then evaluate what is required and build a new product to achieve this (while fitting the correct price point).
You will need a strong knowledge of defence industry trends, good mix of technical, commercial, communication and teamwork skills. These groundbreaking new software & engineering design tools are being adopted by leading Tier 1 & OEMs in Automotive, Defence, Agriculture, Industry 4.0, IoT, Smart Factories worldwide.
Role
Technical role working with clients and suppliers in Off Highway Sector industry to identify and understand client requirements and then help build a high tech autonomous solution for land based vehicles.
Be able to communicate effectively with clients at all levels including technical.
Have good understanding of the market for land based military vehicles: the sales channels and entry points and what the market wants. Both now and in the future - future requirements, applications and next generation products.
New Product Introduction for Tier 1 & OEMs in land based vehicles for off highway: mining, agricultural, forklifts, AGVs, defence, military. Cross Functional role working with clients, design & systems design engineers, product developers, sales teams. Hit target milestone and achieve growth in sales/ revenue
Experience:
- Knowledge of land based vehicles for Off-Highway sector
- Product Development Lifecycle - New Product Design engineering experience
- Degree in Engineering (ideally Software / Computer Science or Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic or similar)
- Design Engineering Background in land based vehicles – ideally Off Highway: understand market, the players, the people and the technology.
- Software Engineering – Software Development Lifecycle
Advantage:
Technical - design and development in Electronic systems, AI, Autonomous Vehicle Tech.
Any knowledge of autonomous driving systems – eg controls, electrical, sensors, Machine Learning, Machine vision, electronic, software, Object detection sensor, smart robot AI, ADAS, Driving Robots, Drive-by-wire, Blind spot detection, Self driving vehicle sensor validation with multiple vehicles and junctions.
- Experience working with engineering consultancy specializing in the off-highway/ Land based vehicles.
Please note: Essential to have Excellent market knowledge of Off-Highway based vehicles
Essential to have Engineering / IT/ Technical Degree and relevant technical background.
