Head of Product Development – Autonomous Vehicle Technology NPI
Senior role in a start up team delivering game changing autonomous vehicle hardware & software
products for Land based vehicles in, Defence, Military, Agricultural & Specialist Automotive.
You need excellent knowledge and experience of the Defence, Military, MoD &/ Agricultural sector.
Eg Experience working with engineering consultancy specializing in defence sector.
Understand what end users want to do, then evaluate what is required and build a new product to achieve this (while fitting the correct price point). You will need a strong knowledge of defence industry trends, good mix of technical, commercial, communication and teamwork skills. These groundbreaking new software & engineering design tools are being adopted by leading Tier 1 & OEMs in Automotive, Defence, Agriculture, Industry 4.0, Smart Factories worldwide.
Role
Client facing role working with clients and suppliers in Military/ Defense / Agricultural Sector industry to identify and understand client requirements and then help build a high tech autonomous solution for land based vehicles
Be able to communicate effectively with clients at all levels including technical.
Have an expert level understanding of the sector and what the market wants. Both now and in the future - future requirements, applications and next generation products.
New Product Introduction for Tier 1 & OEMs in land based vehicles for agricultural, defence, military. Cross Functional role working with clients, design & systems design engineers, product developers, sales teams. Hit target milestone and achieve growth in sales/ revenue
Experience:
- Degree in Engineering (ideally Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic, Software/ IT or similar)
Design Engineering Background in either land based vehicles for the agricultural, defence or military sector – understand market, the players, the people and the technology.
- Technical - design and development in Electronic systems, AI, Autonomous Vehicle Tech.
- Client facing & Commercial skills eg Business development, NPI, Key Account Management.
- New Product Design engineering experience
- Knowledge of land based vehicles for Military / Defence / Agriculture sector
Advantage:
Experience working with engineering consultancy specializing in defence sector
Any knowledge of autonomous driving systems – eg controls, electrical, sensors, Machine Learning, Machine vision, electronic, software, Object detection sensor, smart robot AI, ADAS, Driving Robots, Drive-by-wire, Blind spot detection, Self driving vehicle sensor validation with multiple vehicles and junctions.
Please note: Essential to have Excellent market knowledge of land based vehicles used in MoD/ Military/ Defence / Agriculture, Engineering Degree and relevant technical background. & NPI for high end design engineering, Business Development/ Commercial skills are essential for this role.
