Office based role with potential for a couple of offshore trips each year.

Responsibilities of the Senior Geophysicist are very wide ranging and varied.

Opportunity to Manager & Lead projects and further increase the technical development and capability of the company products and services. Meeting with existing and new clients is also an important aspect of the job. R&D: potential for writing papers and presenting at conferences.

Working with Senior directors, you will play a leading role in projecting the company’s technical competence to clients, to let them know that not only can you undertake each project successfully, but you can do it better and more innovatively than their competitors.

NB: it is essential to have marine/ offshore geophysics and offshore energy engineering experience (O&G or Offshore Wind).

The Role

This is wide ranging and lead role – office based. As a senior member of geophys team, you will mentor those less experienced and have potential for business development.

You will have full lifecycle of acquisition, processing, interpretation at a senior level

- in the Offshore Energy/ Marine / Oil and Gas sector.

Geophysical Survey Equipment
Interpretation of the Data & Modelling
Understanding of the three facets of geophysics: acquisition, processing and interpretation, and the ways in which they interact and affect each other.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

Degree in Geophysics / Geology / Marine Geoscience.
Marine geophysics &/ offshore engineering experience
Offshore Energy – Offshore Wind or O&G
Software: any of Kingdom, SonarWiz, Petrel or similar
Interpretation of the Data & Modelling
Geophysical Survey Equipment eg Burial Assessment, Geohazard Assessment.

Advantage:

GIS
Understand link between Geophysics with Geotech and Foundations Engineering
Land + transition zone, marine and seabed.
